중국에서는 단오절에 전국 각지에서 용모양 배로 경주를 펼치는 용선 축제를 여는데요.

이 축제에서 배가 뒤집혀 네 명이 숨지는 사고가 발생했습니다.

박진감 넘치는 북소리에 맞춰 사람들이 열심히 노를 젓습니다.

뱃머리에 용 장식을 단 배를 타고 경주를 펼치는 용선 축제입니다.

중국 주요 명절인 단오절마다 전국 각지에서 열리는 전통 행사입니다.

"아름다운 산과 물로 둘러싸인 곳에서 용선을 탈 수 있어서 즐거웠습니다."

하지만 기다랗고 좁은 배에 수십 명이 타고,바카라 드래곤조종을 하는 것도 쉽지 않다 보니 충돌 사고가 잇따랐습니다.

맞은 편에서 다가오던 용선 두 척.

한 척이 방향을 틀더니 반대편 용선과 충돌합니다.

굉음과 함께 뱃머리가 부러지고,바카라 드래곤탑승자들은 물에 빠집니다.

이 과정에서 한 명이 발을 다쳤지만,바카라 드래곤탑승자 전원이 구명조끼를 입은 덕에 큰 인명피해는 없었습니다.

반면 구명조끼 없이 용선을 몰다가 사망 사고가 발생하기도 했습니다.

지난 8일 후베이성에서 개최된 용선 경주에서도 배가 뒤집혀 탑승객들이 모두 물에 빠졌습니다.

"빨리!빨리!사람 구해요!"

사고 직후 구조 작업이 진행됐지만,바카라 드래곤57살 남성이 결국 숨졌습니다.

지난 5일 충칭에서는 경주를 앞두고 연습에 한창이던 용선이 뒤집혔습니다.

당시 배에 탄 여성 24명이 빠졌는데,바카라 드래곤이중 세 명이 숨졌습니다.

"모두 구명조끼를 안 입고 있다가 사고가 났어요.물에 빠진 사람은 살았지만,배 밑에 깔린 사람도 있었어요."

지난 2018년에는 17명이 숨지는 등 용선 사고는 매년 발생하고 있습니다.

그럼에도 구명조끼를 입지 않는 등 안전불감증 속에서 인명피해는 이어지고 있습니다.
