필리핀에서 한 유명 유튜버가 '먹방' 다음 날 숨지자 필리핀 당국이 먹방 콘텐츠 금지를 검토하고 나섰습니다.

8일(현지시간) 현지 매체 인콰이어러에 따르면 테오도로 헤르보사 필리핀 보건장관은 먹방 콘텐츠 금지를 검토하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 페이스북 팔로워 47만 명을 가진 유명 먹방 유튜버 '동즈 아파탄'이 지난달 14일 숨진 데 따른 것입니다.

남부 민다나오섬 북라나오주 일리간시에 사는 아파탄은 숨지기 전날 치킨·쌀을 조리해 먹는 먹방 영상을 올렸다가 다음 날 심장마비로 숨졌습니다.

헤르보사 장관은 먹방 유튜버들에 대해 "건강하지 않은 행태를 필리핀 국민에게 홍보하고 있다"며 "공중 보건에 위협이 되는 뭔가를 통해 돈을 버는 짓은 막아야 한다"고 강조했습니다.

헤르보사 장관은 "우리는 이 사람이 왜 숨졌는지 먼저 조사하고 이런 행위를 건강에 안 좋다는 이유로 건강 관련 규제 당국이 금지할 수 있는지 파악해야 한다"고 말했습니다.
