삼성전자는 오디세이 OLED 신제품 2종(G80SD,바카라 승부G60SD)가 출시 한 달 만에 2만대 이상 판매됐다고 1일 밝혔다.신제품은 지난달 3일 한국을 비롯해 북미·유럽·동남아 등 주요 국가에서 판매를 시작했다.

이번 신제품에는 번인 방지 기술인 '삼성 OLED 세이프가드+'가 최초로 적용됐다.또한 'OLED 글레어프리'를 탑재해 빛 반사를 최소화했다.

32형,바카라 승부240Hz 주사율의 오디세이 OLED G8은 4K UHD 해상도를 갖추고 있으며 27형,바카라 승부360Hz 주사율의 오디세이 OLED G6은 QHD 해상도로 화면을 담아낸다.두 제품은 ▲16:9 화면 비율 ▲응답속도 0.03ms(GtG) ▲표준밝기 250니트(nit) 등 여러 기능을 탑재하고 있다.

특히 'NQ8 AI 3세대 프로세서'를 탑재한 오디세이 OLED G8은 스마트 TV 애플리케이션(앱)으로 콘텐츠를 시청할 때 4K에 가까운 화질을 보여준다.

시장조사업체 IDC에 따르면 삼성전자는 2024년 1분기 기준 글로벌 OLED 모니터 시장에서 금액과 수량 기준 모두 1위를 기록했다.지난해에 이어 2년 연속 글로벌 OLED 모니터 1위 자리를 지킬 가능성이 크다.

정훈 삼성전자 영상디스플레이사업부 부사장은 "게이머들에게 최고의 게이밍 환경을 제공하기 위한 기술 탐구와 혁신이 오디세이 OLED 시리즈에 대한 인기로 이어졌다"며 "OLED 모니터 시장 글로벌 1위로서 끊임없는 기술 혁신으로 시장을 선도해 나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.
