오늘 새벽 전남 신안 가거도에서 장어잡이 어선이 전복돼 1명이 숨지고,해외축구2명이 실종됐습니다.

해경은 인근 해역을 지나던 컨테이너선이 이 어선과 충돌해 전복시키고 도주한 것으로 보고,해외축구해당 선박을 붙잡아 조사하고 있습니다.

보도에 허재희 기자입니다.

[리포트]

망망 대해에 거꾸로 뒤집힌 선체가 바닥을 드러낸 채 떠있습니다.

["바로 올라가!"]

해경 구조대원들이 전복된 선체에 올라 수색 작업을 벌입니다.

오늘 새벽 0시 반쯤,해외축구전남 신안군 가거도 북동쪽 18KM 해상에서 조업중이던 33톤급 통발어선 풍성호가 전복됐습니다.

배에 타고 있던 9명 가운데 6명은 구조됐지만,선장은 숨진채 발견됐고 인도네시아 국적 선원 2명은 실종됐습니다.

구조된 선원들은 사고 직전,대형 화물선이 풍성호를 치고 그대로 지나갔다고 진술했습니다.

이를 토대로 해경은 사고 지점에서 68킬로미터 떨어진 곳에서 가해 선박으로 의심되는 대형 화물선을 붙잡았습니다.

선체 앞부분에는 페인트 자국 등 다른 배와 충돌한 흔적이 뚜렷하게 확인됐습니다.

이 화물선은 풍성호가 경적을 울리며 충돌 위험을 알렸지만,해외축구풍성호의 오른쪽 부분을 들이받고 그대로 지나간 것으로 잠정 조사됐습니다.

[권오성/목포해양경찰서 서장 : "(선원들 진술에 의하면) 조업 중 항해 중인 선박이 다가와 기적을 울렸으나 충돌했다는 것을 확인했습니다."]

하지만 화물선에 탄 중국인 선원 19명 모두 진술을 거부해 수사에 어려움을 겪고 있습니다.

해경은 충돌 의심 선박을 육지로 압송해 고의 도주 여부를 집중 수사할 방침입니다.
