방송통신위원회는 오늘 정부과천청사에서 전체회의를 열고 MBC 대주주 방송문화진흥회와 KBS,입증EBS 등 공영방송 3사의 이사 선임 계획안을 의결했습니다.

이로써 오는 8월 12일 임기가 끝나는 방문진 이사 9명과 8월 31일 임기가 만료되는 KBS 이사 11명 등에 대한 공개 모집 절차가 오늘부터 다음달 11일까지 진행됩니다.

임기가 9월 14일까지인 현 EBS 이사 9명의 경우 다음달 12일부터 2주일간 후임을 공모합니다.

상임위원 5인이 정원인 방통위는 오늘 회의에서도 김홍일 위원장과 이상인 부위원장 등 현직 2명만 참석한 가운데 별다른 이의 없이 의결을 진행했습니다.

회의에 앞서 MBC는 '공정한 심사를 기대하기 어렵다'는 이유로 이상인 부위원장에 대한 기피 신청을 냈지만,입증방통위는 '기피 신청권 남용으로 신청 자체가 부적합하다'며 각하 처분한 뒤 의결을 강행했습니다.
