(서울=뉴스1) 최동현 기자 = 포스코퓨처엠(003670)은 제너럴모터스(GM)와 합작한 캐나다 양극재 공장 '얼티엄캠' 가동을 앞두고 현지 핵심 인력 21명을 한국으로 불러 기술 교육을 진행했다고 4일 밝혔다.

이들은 경북 포항 양극재 공장에 3주간 출근해 생산,블록 체인 경제정비,블록 체인 경제품질 관련 조업 기술을 집중적으로 학습했고,블록 체인 경제이어 포항 포스코 인재창조원에서 1주일간의 교육을 통해 포스코그룹의 비전과 조직문화를 배웠다.

포스코퓨처엠과 GM은 2022년 5월 캐나다 합작사 얼티엄캠을 설립하고 퀘벡주에서 연산 3만톤 규모의 양극재 공장 건설을 진행했다.얼티엄캠은 준공 후 시운전을 거쳐 내년부터 본격 양산에 들어간다.

얼티엄캠에서 생산되는 양극재는 미국 인플레이션감축법(IRA)에 따른 세액공제 요건에 충족하며,블록 체인 경제GM과 LG에너지솔루션의 합작사인 얼티엄셀즈의 배터리에 적용된다.
