(베를린=연합뉴스) 김계연 특파원 = 독일 정부가 2029년까지 5세대 이동통신(5G) 네트워크에서 중국 기업 부품을 모두 빼기로 했다고 일간 쥐트도이체차이퉁(SZ)이 10일(현지시간) 보도했다.

독일 정부와 도이체텔레콤·보다폰 등 이동통신사업자들은 데이터가 집중되는 핵심 네트워크는 2026년까지,일본 아시안게임 야구나머지 접속·전송 네트워크는 2029년까지 중국산 부품을 제거하기로 했다.

양측은 조만간 서면으로 합의를 마무리할 예정이며 어길 경우 이동통신사업자에 벌금이 부과될 수 있다고 SZ는 전했다.

독일은 우크라이나 전쟁으로 러시아발 에너지 위기를 겪은 뒤 기반시설의 특정 국가 의존을 경계해왔다.지난해 7월에는 디커플링(공급망 등 분리) 아닌 디리스킹(위험 경감)을 지향하며 의존도를 낮추겠다는 내용의 대중국 전략을 수립했다.

다만 이날 보도된 계획은 2026년까지 모든 5G망에서 중국산 부품을 빼겠다는 당초 방침에서 후퇴한 것이다.

독일의 중국산 부품 퇴출 계획은 지난해부터 예고됐다.내무부는 작년 4월 주요 기반시설 안보 차원에서 5G망의 중국산 부품을 점검한다고 밝힌 바 있다.독일 5G 네트워크의 중국산 부품 비율은 약 60％에 달한다.

서방은 화웨이와 ZTE(중싱통신) 등 중국 업체들이 5G 기기에 네트워크 침투를 위한 '백도어'를 심어두고 정부 지령에 따라 데이터를 빼간다는 의혹을 제기해왔다.미국을 시작으로 영국·뉴질랜드·호주 등이 화웨이와 ZTE를 5G 사업에서 배제했다.중국은 근거도 없이 국가안보를 핑계로 자국 기업을 배제한다며 반발해왔다.
