24일 육군에 따르면 지난 21일 인천 한 아파트에서 옥상에 설치된 실외기에 탄두가 박혀있다는 신고가 경찰에 접수됐다.

군과 경찰의 현장 조사 결과 해당 실외기에는 탄두 1개가 박혀있었다.다행히 이로 인한 인명피해는 없는 것으로 확인됐다.

해당 탄은 동(銅) 소재로 만들어진 5.56㎜ 동심탄으로 조사됐다.동심탄은 납탄에 비해 환경적으로는 안전하지만 명중률이 떨어진다는 단점이 있다.

이에 육군 관계자는 "24일부터 5.56㎜ 동심탄 사용을 잠정 통제했다.또 국방부 과학수사연구소가 발견된 탄에 대해 정밀 검사 중이며,최강야구 류현인결과에 따라 후속조치를 취할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
