(서울=연합뉴스) 조승한 기자 = 과학기술정보통신부 우정사업본부는 9월까지 여름철 폭염과 폭우로부터 직원 안전과 건강을 지키기 위한 '우정사업 종사업 안전보건 특별관리기간'으로 지정해 운영한다고 6일 밝혔다.

이 기간 우본은 안전사고 건수를 지난해 대비 10% 감축하기로 했다.

이를 위해 전국 50여 우체국에 대용량 제빙기를 구매하고 중부권광역물류센터에 냉방기를 설치했다.

또 이달 중 9억5천만원을 투입해 생수와 냉토시,삼성프로야구냉스카프 등 탈수예방과 냉감용품을 지급한다.

기상청 폭염특보와 체감온도,삼성프로야구온열질환 자각 증상에 따른 예방대책과 구체적 집배 업무 정기 기준을 담은 고시 개정안도 이달 말 시행하기로 했다.

24시간 운영되는 우편집중국에서는 안전 미팅을 통해 주의사항을 공유한다.

심혈관계질환과 고혈압 등 기저질환이 있는 직원의 건강 상태를 수시로 확인하고 업무를 마치고 돌아온 직원의 건강 이상징후도 체크한다.

이 밖에도 다음 달부터 직원들의 참여와 인식 제고를 위한 안전보건 소셜미디어(SNS) 쇼츠 공모전도 개최한다.
