인구 56만 김해시 미래 100년의 좌표를 제시할 김해연구원이 전국 기초지자체 5번째로 출범했다.

김해연구원은 5일 김해중소기업비즈니스센터에서 개원식을 갖고 본격적인 업무에 들어갔다.개원식에는 홍태용 시장과 김정호 국회의원,2024 kbo 마지막 일정최학범 경남도의회 의장,안선환 김해시의회 의장,2024 kbo 마지막 일정전민현 인제대 총장,2024 kbo 마지막 일정허남식 신라대 총장 등 200여 명이 참석했다.

연구원은 경제산업연구부,2024 kbo 마지막 일정문화관광복지연구부,2024 kbo 마지막 일정도시교통환경연구부 등 3개 연구부에 18명의 연구원을 두고 있으며 경영지원실 등 1실 3부의 연구조직 체계를 갖췄다.앞으로 김해시의 중장기 발전 방향과 분야별 시민 편익 제도 연구로 지속가능한 김해 발전을 위한 정책연구에 앞장서게 된다.

홍태용 김해시장은 "우리 시정의 싱크탱크 역할을 할 연구원이 첫 걸음을 뗐다"며 부울경 중추도시인 김해시 발전을 견인하고 비전을 제시하는 핵심축이 되길 기대한다"고 말했다.

김재원 초대원장은 "김해시 100년을 향한 차별화된 정책 개발과 시정 뒷받침이라는 사명에 어깨가 무겁다"면서 "작은 출발이지만 우리 시가 국제적 역량을 갖춘 지자체로 거듭날 수 있도록 모든 역량을 결집해 정진하겠다"고 밝혔다.

김해연구원 설립은 2022년 인구 50만 이상 기초단체에 설립할 수 있도록 관련 법률을 개정하며 가능해졌다.김해시는 성남,화성,전주,청주시에 이어 전국 기초지자체 중 5번째로 설립하게 됐다.
