열심히 시험 준비를 하지만 고민도 많습니다.

시험에 합격한다 해도 5년 안에 퇴직하는 신입 공무원은 전체 퇴직자의 20% 수준.

낮은 임금 탓입니다.

"더 많은 수익을 얻을 수 있는 편의점 아르바이트나 이런 것들에 더 사람들이 많이 찾지 않을까…"

"최저임금이 계속 오르면 일본처럼 공무원보다 그냥 아르바이트 하면서 생활하는 사람들이 조금 더 많아질 것 같긴 해요."

올해 9급 공무원의 월평균 급여는 222만 원.

내년도 최저임금을 월급으로 환산한 209만 원보다 13만 원 높습니다.

5인 미만 사업장에서 일하는 근로자 상당수는 최저임금조차도 받지 못하는 걸로 나타났습니다.

지난해 최저임금을 받지 못한 근로자는 전체의 14%인 301만여 명으로 전년보다 늘었습니다.

자영업자들은 인건비를 감당할 수 있을지 벌써부터 고민입니다.

"내년 되면 또 시급이 오르면 초저가 맥줏집이나 이런 데는 타격을 엄청 많이 받을 거예요.사람을 많이 쓰는 곳일수록 인건비가 많이 들어가고."

최저임금 적용 범위와 수준을 고용형태와 업종별 상황에 따라 다양하게 보완해야 한다는 지적이 나옵니다.
