경북 구미시의회 전직 시의원이 현직 시의원을 폭행한 혐의로 경찰 수사를 받고 있다.

4일 구미경찰서에 따르면 전직 시의원 A씨는 이날 오전 11시쯤 구미시의회 건물에서 더불어민주당 소속 김재우 시의원의 뒤통수를 가격한 혐의를 받고 있다.

김 의원은 이날 의회 본회의가 정회하는 시점에 회의장 밖으로 나와 동료 의원과 함께 복도를 걷던 중 폭행을 당한 것으로 알려졌다.

김 의원은 119 구급차에 실려 인근 병원으로 이송된 뒤 치료를 받고 다시 본회의장으로 복귀했다.

사건을 목격한 동료 시의원은 전직 시의원이자 현재 언론인인 A씨를 특정해 경찰 측에 신고했고,공개수업 소감김 의원은 경찰에 "뭔가 둔탁한 것으로 머리를 맞았다"고 진술한 것으로 알려졌다.
