[헤럴드경제=문영규 기자] 이란의 온건 개혁파 정치인 마수드 페제시키안(70)이 대통령 선거에서 과반이 넘는 득표율로 당선됐다.

6일(현지시간) 오전 이란 내무부와 국영 매체에 따르면 전날 치러진 결선투표 개표가 잠정 완료된 결과 페제시키안 후보가 1638만여표(54%)를 얻어 선거에 승리했다.

맞대결한 강경 보수 성향의 사이드 잘릴리(59) 후보는 1353만여표(44%)를 얻었다.

페제시키안 후본보는 지난달 28일 1차 투표에서 대선후보 4명 중 유일한 개혁 성향으로 예상을 깨고 '깜짝' 1위를 차지했다.

이번 결선에서도 잘릴리 후보를 약 285만표 차이로 누르고 최종 당선자가 됐다.

투표율은 약 49.8%로 잠정 집계돼 저조했다.1979년 이란 이슬람공화국이 건국된 이래 사상 최저였던 지난달 1차 투표율(39.9%)보다는 10%포인트 높은 수준이다.

페제시키안 의원은 심장외과 의사 출신으로 지난 2001~2005년 온건 성향인 모하마드 하타미 대통령 아래서 보건장관을 지냈다.

경제제재 해제를 위한 서방과의 관계 개선,키노피오 프사히잡 복장 단속 정책 완화 등 파격적인 공약으로 젊은 층과 여성들 지지가 높았던 것으로 평가받고 있다.

한편 지난 5월 헬기 추락 사고로 에브라힘 라이시 전 이란 대통령이 숨지면서 후임을 결정하는 이번 대선이 치러졌다.
