페르시아블루데이지 - 2024년 실시간 업데이트

삼성SDI가 미국 전력 기업 넥스트에라에너지에 1조원 규모의 에너지저장장치(ESS)용 배터리를 공급하는 계약을 추진 중인 것으로 알려졌다.국내 기업 중 단일 기업과의 계약으론 최대인 총 6.3기가와트시(GWh) 규모로 막바지 계약 조율을 진행 중이다.

4일 업계에 따르면 삼성SDI는 NCA(니켈·코발트·알루미늄) 배터리 셀을 적용한 '삼성배터리박스(SBB)1.5' 제품을 넥스트에라에너지에 공급할 것으로 알려졌다.같은 공간에 더 많은 셀을 압축적으로 설치해 에너지 밀도를 37% 높인 고밀도·고성능 제품이다.

ESS는 에너지가 남아돌 때 저장한 뒤 부족할 때 쓸 수 있도록 한 저장 장치로,페르시아블루데이지태양광·풍력 등 재생에너지 사업이 활발한 북미·유럽 시장에서 수요가 늘어나고 있다.특히 가격이 저렴한 LFP(리튬인산철) 배터리를 쓴 중국 ESS 제품이 세계 시장 점유율을 장악하고 있는 가운데 국내 배터리 업체들의 도전이 본격화되는 셈이다.

LG에너지솔루션 역시 최근 유럽 발트해 국가인 에스토니아에 LFP 배터리를 탑재한 ESS 제품 공급을 시작하며 유럽 시장 진출에 나섰다.
