전남대병원과 조선대병원 교수들이 오는 18일 의료계 집단휴진에 동참하기로 했습니다.

의대 정원 문제를 둘러싼 정부와 의료계 대립이 장기화되면서 시민들의 불안과 불편도 커지고 있습니다.

김호 기자입니다.

뇌혈관이 꽈리 모양으로 부풀어 오르는 뇌동맥류로 전남대병원에서 최근 수술을 받은 60대 김 모 씨.

오는 18일 병원 교수들이 전면 휴진한다는 소식에 마음이 편치 않습니다.

[김 모 씨/수술 환자/음성변조 : "수술을 했으니까 한 일주일 (입원해야 하고) CT 찍은 것도 결과를 나한테 알려주고 그래야 하는데."]

전남대병원과 조선대병원 교수들이 오는 18일 의료계 집단 휴진에 동참합니다.

집단 휴진은 두 병원 본원과 화순전남대병원,퓨처캠빛고을전남대병원에서 진행됩니다.

두 병원 의대 교수들은 설문조사에 참여한 교수들 가운데 80% 가량이 휴진에 찬성했다며 정부의 독단적인 의대 증원 정책에 대해 의견을 개진할 방법은 집단 행동 밖에 없다고 밝혔습니다.

다만 교수들은 응급이나 외상,퓨처캠감염,분만 등 필수 분야 진료는 계속한다고 설명했습니다.

전공의 이탈에 이어 집단 휴진까지 예고되자 시민들의 불편과 불안은 커지고 있습니다.

[병원 이용객/음성변조 : "고래 싸움에 새우 등 터지는 것 같아요.우리 같은 일반인이나 환자분들만 불편을 겪고 피해를 받는 것 같고 강 대 강 싸움인 것 같고."]

광주시와 전남도는 집단 휴진에 대응하기 위해 각 의료기관에 진료 명령과 휴진신고 명령을 내렸습니다.
