(브뤼셀=연합뉴스) 정빛나 특파원 = 네덜란드 극우 성향 정당인 자유당(PVV)이 오르반 빅토르 헝가리 총리 주도로 창립된 유럽의회 새 정치동맹에 합류했다고 dpa,요슬롯 보렙AFP 통신이 6일(현지시간) 보도했다.

헤이르트 빌더르스 PVV 대표는 전날 오후 성명에서 "우리는 유럽의회 안에서 힘을 합치고자 '유럽을 위한 애국자'(Patriots for Europe)에 합류할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

'유럽을 위한 애국자'는 헝가리 민족주의 성향 피데스(Fidesz)당을 이끄는 오르반 총리가 지난달 30일 극우 성향인 오스트리아의 자유당(FPO),요슬롯 보렙체코 긍정당(ANO)과 함께 만든 신생 정치동맹이다.

세 정당은 창립 기자회견 당시 EU의 기득권 정치인들이 전쟁과 이민·침체를 가져왔다고 주장하며 불법 이민을 막고 친환경 정책을 되돌려 EU 정책에서 국가 주권을 지키겠다고 주장했다.

세 정당은 지난달 유럽의회 선거에서 총합 24석을 차지했다.

이후 스페인과 포르투갈 극우 정당인 복스(Vox),요슬롯 보렙체가(Cega)가 합류를 선언했다.

여기에 네덜란드 PVV도 합류를 선언하면서 새 정치동맹은 총 6개 정당으로 세를 확장하게 됐다.

지난달 유럽의회 선거에서 6석을 차지한 PVV는 작년 11월 네덜란드 조기총선에서는 1위를 차지,요슬롯 보렙최근 출범한 네덜란드 연립정부도 주도하고 있다.

기존에는 프랑스 극우 정치인 마린 르펜의 국민연합(RN)이 속해 있는 유럽의회 극우 정치그룹 '정체성과 민주주의'(ID) 소속이었으나,요슬롯 보렙ID에서 탈퇴해 오르반 총리 주도 새 정치동맹에 힘을 실어주는 셈이 됐다.

또 '유럽을 위한 애국자' 정치동맹은 이제 한 회원국 정당만 더 합류하면 이달 중순 제10대 유럽의회 개원을 앞두고 정치그룹(교섭단체) 출범 요건을 갖추게 된다.

유럽의회 정치그룹을 결성하려면 최소 7개 회원국 정당에서 의원 23명이 필요하다.
