악성 민원에 시달리다 극단적 선택을 한 대전 용산초 교사 사망사건의 가해자로 지목된 학부모 중 한 명이 최근 명예훼손 등 혐의로 네티즌들을 고소했다.

2일 연합뉴스에 따르면 대전 용산초 사건의 가해자 의혹을 받은 학부모 A씨는 일부 네티즌이 소셜미디어에 올린 글이 '자신의 명예를 훼손했다'며 지난달 말 이들을 정보통신법상 명예훼손 및 업무방해,쇼트트랙 월드컵 2차 중계협박 등 혐의로 고소했다.

A씨는 자신이 이사 간 지역의 온라인 카페 등에서 자신을 특정해 '동네에서 추방하자'는 내용의 글을 올리고 협박성 문구의 현수막을 내건 이들에 대한 수사를 의뢰한 것으로 알려졌다.

2019년 대전 용산초에서 근무하던 교사 B씨는 친구를 폭행한 학생을 교장실에 보냈다는 이유 등으로 학부모로부터 아동학대로 고소당하며 수년간 악성 민원에 시달리다 지난해 9월 극단적 선택을 했다.

이 사건으로 대중의 공분이 일면서 악성 민원을 남발했다고 지목된 일부 학부모의 신상이 온라인 커뮤니티를 중심으로 확산했다.

인사혁신처가 B씨의 순직을 인정한 가운데 사건을 수사해온 경찰은 지난달 26일 학교 관계자 2명과 학부모 8명 등 10명에 대해 무혐의 처분을 내리고 불송치했다.
