(서울=연합뉴스) 황희경 기자 = 오는 9월 서울에서 열리는 아트페어(미술품 장터) 프리즈 서울의 '아티스트 어워드' 수상자로 최고은(39) 작가가 선정됐다.

프리즈 서울은 제2회 아티스트 어워드 수상작으로 최 작가의 '화이트 홈 월: 웰컴'(White Home Wall: Welcome)과 '글로리아'(Gloria)를 선정했다고 24일 밝혔다.

수상작은 재활용된 폐기관과 에어컨 부품 등 폐기된 산업 재료를 변형한 설치 작품이다.

프리즈 서울 측은 "거대한 디지털 세상의 이면에 숨겨진 사회 기반 시설을 표현하면서 도시 환경에 스며들어 있는 물질들의 복잡한 생태계를 떠올리게 하는 작품"이라고 소개했다.

아티스트 어워드는 신진·중견 작가의 신작을 프리즈 서울에서 선보이는 기회를 제공하는 상으로,최 작가는 수상작 시리즈의 최신작을 9월 4∼7일 서울 코엑스 프리즈 서울 전시장에서 소개한다.

이번 심사에는 추성아 리움미술관 큐레이터와 전준호 작가,피터버러 유나이티드 fc김성우 프라이머리 프랙티스 큐레이터,융 마 영국 헤이워드 갤러리 시니어 큐레이터가 참여했다.
