손태장 미슬토 회장.[손태장 링크트인 캡처]일본 손정의 소프트뱅크그룹 회장의 동생 손태장(손타이조) 미슬토 회장이 만드는 투자 펀드가 한국 대기업 등으로부터 1억3000만달러(약 1775억원)의 자금을 조달하는 것으로 전해졌다.

16일 니혼게이자이신문(닛케이)에 따르면 손태장 회장이 만드는 인공지능(AI) 스타트업 관련 투자 펀드는 소프트뱅크그룹과 함께 SK네트웍스,LG전자,한화 금융 부문 등과 출자 계약을 맺고 이달 말까지 자금을 조달받기로 했다.

이 펀드는 AI를 활용한 기술 기반으로 아시아 시장 진출에 의욕을 가진 스타트업 등에 투자한다.구체적으로 클라우드를 통해 소프트웨어를 제공하는 SaaS(서비스형 소프트웨어),바이오,튀니지 월드컵농수산업,핀테크,튀니지 월드컵반도체,로봇,신소재 등 7개 분야를 발굴한다.

현재 1개 사당 투자액을 500만∼2000만달러를 염두에 두고 있으며 운용기간은 10년이다.연말까지 대만,튀니지 월드컵인도네시아,베트남 등에서도 출자 기업을 모집해 조달 자금을 연말까지 2억달러 규모로 확대할 계획이다.

손태장 회장은 지난해 3월 싱가포르에서 벤처캐피털(VC)‘디 에지 오브’를 공동 설립해 투자처를 발굴하고 있다.닛케이는 디 에지 오브가 펀드에 출자하는 대기업 등의 AI 신사업 개시나 인수합병(M&A) 등도 뒷받침할 계획이라고 전했다.
