[파이낸셜뉴스]이복현 금융감독원장이 지난 5일 직원들의 재능기부를 독려하기 위해 자녀가 재학중인 학교를 방문해 금융교육을 실시했다.

6일 금융감독원에 따르면 이복현 원장은 이날 초등학교 5학년 학생들을 대상으로 한 강의에서 금융회사의 종류와 역할을 설명하고 계획적인 소비와 저축을 위한 용돈 관리의 중요성을 교육했다.아울러 수업에 참여한 초등학생의 눈높이에 맞추어 동영상,OX퀴즈 등을 활용해 학생들의 적극적인 참여를 이끌어냈다.

이 원장은 이날 수업에 앞서 학교 관계자와 면담을 갖고 금융환경 변화와 청소년 대상 금융 범죄 우려 등으로 학교를 통한 조기 금융교육의 필요성이 커지고 있다는데 공감했다.아울러 '1사1교 금융교육'을 기반으로 연령대와 학사일정을 고려한 다양한 학교 금융교육 프로그램을 내실있게 운영해 나갈 계획임을 밝혔다.

한편 금감원은 금융교육을 통한 재능기부의 일환으로 임직원이 일일강사로 학교를 방문해 금융교육을 실시하는 프로그램을 운영중이다.

대상은 교육을 희망하는 학교,월드컵 문화연고가 있는 학교(자녀·친인척 학교,모교) 등이다.

지난해에는 14명,월드컵 문화올해 5~6월중에는 20여명의 임직원이 학교를 방문해 금융교육을 통한 재능기부를 실천했다.
