사고가 발생한 곳 주변은 시청을 비롯해 사무실,stam 슬롯음식점 등이 밀집돼 있었습니다.

한 회사에서 여러 명의 희생자가 나온 이유입니다.

갑작스런 비보에 장례식장으로 달려온 유족들은 황망한 심경을 감추지 못했습니다.

"어떤 상황에서 죽었는지는 모르거든요.연락받고 일단 장례식장으로 온 겁니다.착하디 착한 조카죠."

서울시는 이번 사고로 직원 두 명을 잃었습니다.

그 중 한 명인 52살 청사운영팀장 김인병 씨는 집안의 자랑이었습니다.

7남매 중 막내로 태어난 김 씨는 어릴 적 사고로 한쪽 눈의 시력을 잃었지만 밤낮없이 공부해 공무원이 됐습니다.

[김윤병/고 김인병 씨 첫째 형]
"우리 집안에 명절 때 오면 비타민이었어요.그래서 명절 때나 제사 때 오면 그 동생이 없으면 재미가 없을 정도로 항시 웃음을 안겨주고 식구들이 너무 좋아했거든요."

누구보다 공직에 자부심을 갖고 성실히 일했던 김 씨는 늦은 저녁을 먹고 남은 일을 하기 위해
청사로 돌아가던 길에 변을 당했습니다.

야근을 한 뒤 김씨와 함께 밥을 먹은 30대 주무관 윤 모 씨 또한 사고에 휘말려 숨졌습니다.

"엄청 성실해요.놀아보지도 못하고 공부만 하고 일만 하고.시청 됐다고 너무 좋아했는데 시청 앞에서 이렇게 안 좋은 일이 생겨서…"

시청역 인근에 본점을 둔 은행 직원 4명도 한꺼번에 목숨을 잃었습니다.

40대 남성 1명과 50대 남성 3명으로,stam 슬롯일행의 승진을 축하하기 위해 저녁 자리를 가졌다가 사고를 당했습니다.

세 남매는 졸지에 아버지를 잃었습니다.

"착하고 성실하고 다 잘해요.같이 살았어요."

또 다른 희생자인 30대 남성 3명 역시 서울의 한 대형병원에서 주차관리요원으로 함께 근무 중인 걸로 확인됐습니다.

희생자들의 빈소는 서울대병원과 국립중앙의료원,stam 슬롯신촌세브란스병원 등에 마련됐습니다.
