[파이낸셜뉴스] GS건설은 서울시교육청과 저소득층과 맞벌이 가정을 위한 방과후 돌봄 교실을 조성하는 'GS건설 즐거운 돌봄교실' 업무협약을 체결했다고 10일 밝혔다.

돌봄교실은 초등학교 교실 별도 공간에서 돌봄 전담사가 방과후부터 아동을 돌보는 제도다.

협약에 따라 GS건설은 '즐거운 돌봄교실' 사업 리모델링에 필요한 재원을 지원하고,시공을 담당한다.기존 교실의 여유공간을 독서활동,미술교실 등 다양한 방과 후 수업이 가능한 다목적 공간으로 재단장한다.

GS건설은 지난해부터 남촌재단과 함께 서울시교육청,크리스털 팰리스 대 웨스트 햄 순위초록우산이 주관하는 돌봄교실 사업을 지원하고 있다.

지난해 서울 은평구 수색초등학교에 1호점을 완공했으며,크리스털 팰리스 대 웨스트 햄 순위지난 3월 서울 중랑구 면남초등학교에 2호점을 완공했다.올해는 총 4개교에 돌봄교실을 완공할 계획이다.

GS건설 관계자는 "향후 GS건설은 다양하고 차별화된 사회공헌활동을 지속적으로 추진해 환경·사회·지배구조(ESG) 선도 기업으로 최선을 다할 것"이라고 말했다.
