윤석열 대통령은 24일 경기도 화성시 배터리 제조공장 화재 발생 보고를 받고 "가용 인력과 장비를 총동원해 인명 수색과 구조에 총력을 다할 것"을 긴급 지시했다.

윤 대통령은 이날 보고를 받은 뒤 이상민 행정안전부 장관과 남화영 소방청장에게 이 같이 지시했다고 김수경 대통령실 대변인이 전혔다.

윤 대통령은 또 "급격히 연소가 확대되고 있는 점을 고려해 소방대원의 안전에도 철저를 기하라"고 당부했다.

화재는 이날 오전 10시 31분 경기도 화성시 서신면에 있는 일차전지 제조 업체 아리셀 공장에서 발생했다.소방당국에 따르면,신성동 복권10시 50분 현재 사상자는 사망 1명·부상 1명으로 집계됐으며 공장 안에 19명이 고립된 것으로 추정되고 있다.
