초복날 오리고기를 나눠 먹은 뒤 중태에 빠진 경북 봉화군 60~70대 주민 3명(매일신문 7월 15일 보도)에게서 살충제 성분이 검출됐다.경찰은 과거 발생했던 유사 범죄 사례들로 비춰 누군가 고의로 넣었을 가능성이 큰 것으로 보고 본격적인 수사에 착수했다.

16일 경찰 등에 따르면 전날 낮 12시쯤 봉화읍 한 경로당 회원 41명이 마을 내 식당에 모여 오리고기를 나눠먹었고,RF이 가운데 심정지와 침흘림,RF근육 경직 증세 등을 보인 여성 3명의 위에서 살충제 성분이 확인됐다.

이들이 긴급 이송된 안동병원 의료진이 위세척액을 국립과학수사연구원에 보내 정밀 감정을 요청한 결과 살충제 성분인 유기인제가 검출된 것이다.의료진은 국과수에 이들의 혈액 표본 등도 보냈다.

경찰과 안동병원 관계자는 "유기인제는 음식에 미량으로 섞인 수준으로는 검출될 수 없는 성분"이라며 "상당량의 약물 섭취가 확정적으로 보인다.해당 약물은 해독제가 없어서 몸에서 자연 분해되기를 기다리는 수밖에 없다"고 설명했다.

추가 피해자도 나왔다.이날 피해 여성 3명과 같은 자리에 있었던 다른 여성 1명도 봉화군에 있는 병원에서 치료를 받던 중 상태가 악화돼 16일 오전 10시 14분쯤 안동병원 응급실에 이송됐다.

전날 입원한 3명은 모두 의식이 없는 상태로,RF이날 입원한 다른 1명은 대화가 불가능한 상태로 전해진다.

농약 성분이 검출되면서 경찰은 용의자 특정을 위해 전날 함께 식사한 경로당 회원 등을 대상으로 탐문 수사를 진행하고 있다.또 식당 주변 CCTV 등을 분석하고,전날 경로당 회원들이 찾은 식당에서 음식물 등을 수거해 검사를 진행할 계획이다.

경찰은 사건 당일 이 식당에선 경로당 회원 41명이 오리고기를 나눠 먹었는데,RF특정 자리에 앉았던 4명만 중태에 빠져 범죄 가능성이 큰 것으로 보고 있다.

앞서 경북에서는 2015년 상주,RF2016년 청송,RF2018년 포항에서 발생한 이른바 '농약사이다','농약소주','농약고등어탕' 사건 등 유사 범죄가 잇따랐다.2015년 상주 사건 당시에는 피해자 6명 중 2명이 숨졌다.

경찰 관계자는 "주민들이 한자리에 모인 장소에서 음식물이나 음료 등에 농약을 탄 점 등이 이번 사건과 흡사하다.당시 사건들은 주로 마을 주민들의 갈등과 불화로 벌어졌다"며 "과거 사례를 참고해 이번 살충제 성분 검출에 대한 정확한 경위를 조사·추적하겠다"고 밝혔다.
