아시아물리올림피아드 한국대표단

(서울=연합뉴스) 조승한 기자 = 아시아 물리 분야 영재들이 실력을 겨루는 '아시아 물리올림피아드'에 출전한 한국 대표단 학생들이 모두 입상했다.

과학기술정보통신부는 3일부터 10일까지 말레이시아 캄파르에서 열린 제24회 아시아 물리올림피아드에서 한국 대표단 8명이 금메달 5개,은메달 1개,동메달 2개를 받았다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 대회에는 아시아 26개국과 유럽 참관국 1개국 등 27개국 208명이 참가했다.

한국 대표단은 고민재,김민재,이연우(이상 서울과학고3),이웅주(경기과학고3),경남개발공사 핸드볼이혁준(서울과학고2) 학생이 금메달을,주형조(서울과학고3) 학생이 은메달을,이민섭,경남개발공사 핸드볼이승헌(이상 서울과학고3) 학생이 동메달을 받았다.

대회는 이론 3문제,실험 1문제로 진행됐으며 이론 시험에는 ▲ 분수 물줄기 ▲ 빛의 굴절과 광섬유 ▲ 전파 방출 천체인 퀘이사 발견 문제가,경남개발공사 핸드볼실험에서는 자이로스코프 세차 운동 문제가 출제됐다.

올해 올림피아드에 출전한 학생들은 한국물리학회 내 한국물리올림피아드위원회를 통해 선발됐다.

한편 과기정통부는 당초 7월 21일 이란에서 열리는 국제물리올림피아드 출전을 지원할 예정이었으나 중동 국제정세 불안으로 아시아 물리올림피아드 출전 지원으로 변경했다고 밝혔다.
