한국 콘텐츠가 또 한번 쾌거를 이뤄냈습니다.영화와 드라마,음악에 이어 뮤지컬에서도 낭보가 날아들었습니다.얼마 전 뮤지컬의 본고장,뉴욕 브로드웨이에서 첫선을 보인 우리 뮤지컬 '위대한 개츠비'가 공연계 최고상인 토니상의 의상상을 수상했습니다.또 다른 뮤지컬에선 한국계 디자이너가 조명상을 받았습니다.

1920년대 미국 재즈시대를 재현한 화려한 의상.

한국 뮤지컬 제작사가 만든 '위대한 개츠비'가 공연계 최고 권위를 자랑하는 미국 토니상 시상식에서 의상상을 수상했습니다.

수상자인 린다 조는 2014년 한 차례 토니상을 받은 적 있는 베테랑 디자이너로,카카오웹툰 무료이번 작품을 위해 여주인공 데이지의 드레스 10벌을 포함해 모두 350여 벌의 의상을 디자인했습니다.

1920년대 뉴욕 사교계 의상에 자기만의 해석을 덧붙인 점이 주효했다는 평가입니다.

"축하합니다.'위대한 개츠비'로 의상상을 수상한 린다 조입니다.이제 밤을 마음껏 즐기시기 바랍니다.토니상 챙기시고,샴페인도 드시고요."

조명 디자인 부문에선 뮤지컬 '아웃사이더스'의 해나 김,김수연 씨가 토니상의 영예를 안았습니다.

김 씨는 영상을 활용해 작품의 스토리텔링을 돕는 프로젝션 디자이너로,카카오웹툰 무료무대를 관통하는 빛줄기가 작품 전체에 활력을 부여했다는 평가를 받았습니다.

김 씨는 "브로드웨이에서 열심히 활동하는 한국인이 많은데 다 같이 인정받는 날이 왔으면 한다"는 소감을 전했습니다.
