전국 드론 동호인들의 스포츠축제 '제1회 의성군 마스터 오브 드론(MASTER OF DRONE)'가 22,23일 의성군 가음드론스포츠센터에서 열렸다.

이번 대회는 전국에서 활동하는 드론 레이싱 선수들과 드론축구 11개팀,2023-2024 UEFA 유로파 컨퍼런스리그 8강관계자 등 100여명이 참가해 미니 드론 레이싱,드론 시뮬레이션,드론 축구 등 드론을 활용한 다양한 스포츠 경기를 선보였다.

22일에는 가음 드론스포츠센터 운영자인 ㈜나르샤텍이 주최한 미니 드론 레이싱대회와 드론 시뮬레이션 대회가 열렸다.23일에는 한국모형항공협회가 주관하는 드론 축구대회가 펼쳐졌다.

특히 의성군 드론스포츠센터에서 드론 축구 교육을 받고 있는 교육생들이 눈에 띄는 성과를 올려 관심을 모았다.

미니 드론 레이싱 대회에서는 정민기 학생(의성중)이 7등을 기록했고,드론 축구대회에서는 1~3위 모두 의성 지역 학생‧주민들로 구성된 팀이 차지했다.

김주수 의성군수는 "앞으로 드론 스포츠 정기 대회 등을 통해 관련 인재를 육성하고 드론 스포츠 산업 저변을 확대해 지역의 신성장 동력을 창출해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
