제주도 제비들이 겨울을 지내는 이른바 '강남'은 필리핀 지역으로 확인됐습니다.

제주도교육청은 제비 생태 탐구 프로젝트 연구 결과 제주도에서 번식한 제비들의 월동지가 필리핀 루손섬으로 밝혀졌다고 오늘(5일) 밝혔습니다.

제비들의 이동 경로를 분석한 결과 제주도와 월동지를 오가는 제비들은 8월 말 제주도에서 출발해 바닷길로 일본 오키나와와 인도네시아를 거쳐 9월 중순에서 10월 초 사이 필리핀 루손섬에 도착한 것으로 나타났습니다.

이곳에서 겨울을 보낸 제비들은 2월 말 다시 타이완과 중국을 거쳐 3월 초에 제주도로 귀환한 것으로 확인됐습니다.

이 기간 이동 거리는 제주∼필리핀 7천200㎞,신한 야구 퀴즈4월20일필리핀∼제주 2천㎞ 등 총 9천200㎞에 달했습니다.
