류희림 방송통신심의위원회(방심위) 위원장 아들의 토지 매매를 놓고 가족 증여를 매매로 위장한 것 아니냐는 한겨레 의혹 보도에 류희림 위원장이 사실과 다르다며 법적 대응을 예고했다.

류희림 위원장은 15일 방심위를 통해 개인 명의 입장문을 내며 "장남이 적법한 절차를 거쳐 매입한 재개발택지"라며 "정정보도 내용을 오늘 보도한 신문 지면과 같은 크기로 반영해 주시고 허위왜곡 보도로 인해 저의 명예를 훼손한 데 대해 사과문도 함께 게재해 주시기를 강력히 요청드린다.저의 요구가 받아들여지지 않을 때에는 관련 민·형사상 법적 대응을 검토할 수밖에 없다"고 밝혔다.

한겨레는 지난 14일 <류희림 사들인 '재개발 땅',스포츠 사이트 추천누나 거쳐 아들이 재구입> 보도를 통해 "류희림 방심위원장 아들이 30살 때 서울 강북권 최대 재개발 지역이었던 은평구 땅(아파트 입주권)을 고모로부터 사들인 것으로 확인됐다"며 "이 땅은 류 위원장이 매입한 지 1년도 안 돼 류 위원장 누나 명의로 소유권이 이전됐다가,스포츠 사이트 추천다시 1년 10개월 만에 류 위원장 아들에게 넘어갔다"고 보도했다.

한겨레는 "통상 '부모-자식' 간 증여보다 '부모-고모-자식'간 매매 시 세금이 적기 때문에 친인척 명의를 활용해 '증여'를 '매매'로 위장한 것 아니냐는 의혹이 나온다"면서 "전문가들은 편법 절세가 의심된다고 지적한다"고 했다.

이에 류희림 위원장은 "장남이 고모로부터 재개발 택지를 매입한 것은 정상적인 부동산 매매 절차에 따른 것으로 실제매매대금이 지불된 정상적인 부동산거래"라며 "한겨레 보도에 따르면 매입대금 5억5000만 원을 부모에게 빌린 것으로 보인다고 했으나 이 역시 전혀 사실무근"이라고 했다.

류희림 위원장은 "장남은 금융기관 2군데에서 1억 원과 8000만 원 등 1억8000만 원을 소득증빙자료 등을 바탕으로 정상적으로 대출을 받았는데도 한겨레는 당시 장남이 '금융권대출없이 매입했다'고 허위 사실을 보도했다"고 주장했다.

아울러 "마치 장남이 5억5000만 원에 구입한 택지로 나중에 10억 원 이상의 아파트를 그냥 분양받는 것처럼 왜곡된 주장을 펴고 있다"며 "최초 매입당시부터 은행대출금 등의 이자부담등을 감안한다면 입주 시에는 10억 원 가까운 비용을 부담하게 되는 것"이라고 했다.
