1급 감염병인 야토병 의심 사례가 발생해 보건당국이 조사에 나섰습니다.

오늘(8일) 경기 수원시에 따르면 지난달 29일 복통과 발열 증상으로 관내 한 병원에 입원했던 20대 남성 A 씨에 대한 혈액 검사에서 야토병균 양성 반응이 나왔습니다.

질병관리청은 시로부터 야토병 의심 사례 발생 보고를 받은 뒤 야토병 확진 여부 판단을 위해 지난 6일 경기도보건환경연구원에 혈청 검사를 의뢰했습니다.

수원 시민인 A 씨는 앞선 지난달 24일 집 근처 소 곱창 식당에서 소 생간을 먹은 뒤 증상을 호소한 것으로 파악됐습니다.

당시 A 씨와 일행 1명이 함께 식사했지만,출고 영어로A 씨에게서만 증상이 나타났습니다.

시 관계자는 "A 씨는 입원 나흘 만인 이달 2일 상태가 호전돼 퇴원했다"며 "혈청 검사 결과는 1주일에서 열흘 정도 걸린다고 통보받아 현재 결과를 기다리는 중이며,출고 영어로야토병으로 확진 판정이 나올 경우 질병관리청에서 결과를 발표할 예정인 것으로 알고 있다"고 말했습니다.

야토병은 야토병균(野兎病菌: Francisella tularensis)에 감염돼 발생합니다.

야생 토끼를 비롯한 야생 설치류에게 물리거나 닿거나 감염된 음식이나 물을 먹고 마심으로써 감염됩니다.

심각도와 전파력이 높은 1급 감염병에는 야토병 외에 에볼라바이러스병,출고 영어로두창,출고 영어로페스트,출고 영어로탄저 등이 지정돼 있습니다.

야토병은 전파력은 없는 것으로 전해졌지만 폐렴이나 혈액을 매개로 감염될 경우 치명률이 높습니다.

우리나라에서는 1997년 포항시 북구의 한 야산에서 죽은 지 며칠 된 야생 토끼 한 마리를 요리해 먹은 40대 남성이 확진 판정을 받은 바 있습니다.

이 남성은 입원 치료 후 10여 일 만에 완치돼 퇴원했습니다.
