제적 시 결원 없이는 재입학 어려워

의대 5곳이 1개월 이상 '무단결석'한 학생에 대해 학칙에 따라 제적 예정 통보를 했다.

교육부는 학칙상 1개월 이상 무단결석할 경우 제적 처리되는 5개교가 제적 예정 통보했으며 미복귀 학생에 대해서는 제적 처리할 계획이라고 2일 밝혔다.

제적 통보를 완료한 학교는 ▷순천향대(대상 인원 606명) ▷을지대(299명) ▷인제대(557명) ▷차의과대 의학전문대학원(190명)이다.건양대는 이날 중 제적 예정 통보를 할 계획이며 대상 인원은 264명이다.

이로써 5개 의대에서 총 1천916명이 제적 처분을 받게 될 전망이다.

일반적으로 제적 시 결원이 있어야만 재입학이 가능하다.24·25학번이 속한 1학년은 내년도에 신입생이 들어오기 때문에 사실상 결원이 생기기 어렵다.

교육부는 "지난달 30일 의대 학장단 회의 결과 더 이상의 학사유연화 조치는 없으며 유급·제적 사유 발생 시 학칙을 적용할 것을 원칙적으로 재확인한 바 있다"며 "복귀하지 않아 유급·제적 사유가 발생하는 학생은 학칙에 따라 관련 절차를 진행할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

아울러 "각 대학에 유급·예정 대상자 명단을 작성해 내부 결재하도록 하고,추후 대학별 현황 점검 시 확인할 것"이라고 전했다.

앞서 교육부는 지난달 30일 각 대학에 공문을 보내 오는 7일까지 미복귀 의대생에 대한 유급·제적 처분 현황과 학사운영 계획을 제출하라는 공문을 보낸 바 있다.
