수억원의 현금이 담긴 돈가방을 훔쳐 국외로 출국하려던 중국인이 인천공항에서 체포됐다.

인천 미추홀경찰서는 절도 혐의로 중국 국적의 30대 남성 ㄱ씨를 긴급체포했다고 4일 밝혔다.

ㄱ씨는 지난 2일 오후 6시 20분께 인천시 미추홀구 한 호텔 로비에서 함께 투숙하러 온 40대 중국인 여성 ㄴ씨의 가방을 훔쳐 달아난 혐의를 받고 있다.ㄴ씨의 가방에는 1천만원권 수표 10장과 90만 홍콩달러(약 1억6300만원) 등 2억6천여만원 상당의 지폐가 들어 있던 것으로 알려졌다.

ㄱ씨는 평소 알고 지내던 ㄴ씨가 사업을 하며 현금을 많이 가지고 있다는 사실을 알고 범행을 저지른 것으로 조사됐다.

경찰은 호텔에서 달아난 ㄱ씨의 도주 경로를 추적한 끝에 지난 3일 새벽 인천공항에서 ㄱ씨를 긴급체포했다.
