더불어민주당이 추진하는 대통령 당선 시 진행 중인 형사재판 절차를 정지하도록 하는 형사소송법 개정안에 대해 법무부가 사실상 반대 입장을 밝힌 것으로 나타났습니다.

법무부는 민주당 김용민 의원이 대표 발의한 형사소송법 개정안에 대해 '신중 검토' 의견을 국회에 제출했습니다.

법무부는 "개정안이 특정인을 위한 법률안으로 해석될 여지가 있고 대통령직이 범죄의 도피처로 전락할 우려가 있다"는 의견을 밝혔습니다.

또 "헌법 제84조 '소추'에 형사재판이 포함되는지에 대해선 포함설과 불포함설이 대립된다"며 "국민적 의견을 수렴한 후 헌법 개정을 통해 도입하는 것이 바람직하다"고 덧붙였습니다.
