(서울=뉴스1) 이세현 기자 = 고위공직자범죄수사처(공수처)가 조희대 대법원장의 직권남용 혐의에 대한 본격적인 수사에 착수했다.

9일 법조계에 따르면 공수처는 서울의소리 등 시민단체들이 직권남용권리행사방해 등 혐의로 조 대법원장을 고발한 사건을 수사4부(부장검사 차정현)에 배당했다.

앞서 서울의소리 등은 대법원이 이재명 더불어민주당 대통령 후보의 공직선거법 사건에 대해 유죄 취지 파기 환송을 선고하자 "6~7만 쪽에 달하는 사건기록과 당사자의 주장을 충분히 검토하기에도,사이트 등록법관들 간 합의를 하기에도 절대적으로 불가능한 시간이었다"며 "대선을 앞두고 국민 지지율 압도적 1위인 이 후보를 폄훼하고 피선거권이 박탈될 수도 있는 심히 중차대한 결과 등이 발생했다"고 주장하며 지난 3일 조 대법원장을 고발했다.

이들은 "법치주의의 최후 보루인 사법부가 위상을 되찾고 제 위치에 바로 설 수 있도록 피의자에 대한 즉각적인 구속수사를 해달라"고 밝혔다.
