5일 오후 포항시 남구 호미곶면 앞바다에서 그물에 걸려 죽은 채 발견된 밍크고래를 해양경찰관이 조사하고 있다.[사진 = 포항해양경찰서]경북 포항해양경찰서는 5일 오후 1시께 포항시 남구 호미곶 강사 동쪽 약 3.7㎞ 해상에서 작업 중이던 어선 A호(7.93t급)에서 밍크고래가 혼획됐다고 밝혔다.
혼획된 밍크고래는 길이 7m 67㎝,포커 에이스 1004둘레 4ｍ로 측정됐으며,국립수산과학원 고래연구센터에 의뢰한 결과 암컷으로 알려졌다.
A호 선장은 경찰 조사에서 “해당 해역에서 통발 양망 작업 중 밍크고래 1마리가 통발 원줄에 감겨 죽어 있는 것을 보고 신고했다” 말했다.
[사진 = 포항해양경찰서]해경은 불법 포획 흔적이 발견되지 않아 A호 선장에게‘고래류 처리확인서’를 발급했고,혼획된 고래는 호미곶수협 위판장에서 7619만원에 낙찰됐다.
