이진숙 방송통신위원장 후보자가 방통위 업무 보고를 받으며 인사 청문 준비에 들어갔습니다.

방통위 '2인 체제' 논란에도,한국마사회제주경마장공영방송 이사진 교체를 사실상 강행할 것으로 보이는데요.

이 후보자의 극우적 성향도 연일 도마에 오르고 있습니다.

인사 청문 준비를 위해 첫 출근한 이진숙 방송통신위원장 후보자는 방통위의 '2인 체제' 장기 파행을 놓고 민주당에 책임을 돌렸습니다.

지난해 8월 국민의힘이 자신을 방통위 상임위원에 추천했지만,야권이 동의하지 않았기 때문이란 겁니다.

"민주당이 지금이라도 두 사람을 더 추천을 하신다면 4명이 되겠죠.그러면 국민의힘에서 또 한 명을 추천하고요.저는 한시바삐 5인 체제가 구성이 돼서…"

다만 이 후보자는 자신보다 앞서 민주당이 추천했던 최민희 후보자를,한국마사회제주경마장윤석열 대통령이 7개월 넘게 임명하지 않았던 일은 언급하지 않았습니다.

또 "합의 정신에 따라서 과제를 수행하겠다"면서도,한국마사회제주경마장전임자들처럼 부위원장과 2명 만으로 의결을 이어갈 거냔 질문에 즉답을 피했습니다.

"'2인 체제가 유지된다면' 이 가정 상황에 대해서는 답변하는 것이 부적절하다고 생각합니다.고맙습니다."

'2인 체제'의 위법성 논란을 무릅쓰고 다음달부터 임기가 만료되는 MBC 대주주 방송문화진흥회 등 공영방송 이사진 선임을 강행하겠단 뜻으로 풀이됩니다.

실제로 이 후보자는 어제 자신의 SNS에 "이 후보자가 방통위원장에 임명되면 방문진 이사장과 이사들까진 교체할 수 있다"는 한 인터넷 매체 대표의 글을 공유하기도 했습니다.

"<지금 가장 시급한 방통위 현안은 뭐라고 생각하십니까?> 말씀을 드린 대로 공영방송의 '공영성 제자리 찾기'라고 생각을 합니다."

이달 하순으로 예상되는 국회 인사청문회에서,야권은 이 후보자의 노조탄압 논란 이력과 정치적 편향성 등에 공세를 집중할 전망입니다.

5.18 기념 재단 등 5월단체들은 광주민주화항쟁을 '사태'로 표현하고 광주시민들을 '홍어족'으로 비하한 글에 '공감'을 표시한 이 후보자의 지명을 철회하라고 촉구했습니다.
