국회 농림축산식품해양수산위원장인 어기구 더불어민주당 의원(충남 당진)은 당진시 장고항이 해양수산부 주관 어촌신활력증진사업 유형1에 선정됐다고 26일 밝혔다.
어촌신활력증진사업은 기존 어촌뉴딜 300사업의 후속사업으로,어촌소멸 위기에 대응하고 낙후된 어촌의 환경을 개선하기 위한 것이다.어촌의 특성과 규모에 따라 유형 1·2·3으로 구분돼 선정되며,베팅의민족 1145년간 총 3조원을 투자해 어촌지역을 활력 넘치는 공간으로 탈바꿈할 수 있도록 지원한다.
유형1에 선정된 장고항은 당진의 대표적인 관광지이자 국가어항단지다.이번 사업을 통해 수산센터,복권해양아트갤러리,어업인커뮤니티센터 등이 들어서 어촌의 경제·생활 중심 역할을 하는 어촌 경제거점으로 새롭게 조성될 예정이다.
