위탁선거 법률 위반 혐의 적용

[청주=뉴시스] 충북도선거관리위원회 로고.*재판매 및 DB 금지[청주=뉴시스] 연현철 기자 = 다음 달 5일 치러지는 1회 전국 동시 새마을금고 이사장 선거를 앞두고 선거인에게 돈봉투를 건넨 충북지역 후보자가 경찰에 고발됐다.

충북도선거관리위원회는 공공단체 등 위탁선거에 관한 법률 위반(선거인 매수 및 기부행위) 혐의로 후보자 A씨를 경찰에 고발했다고 27일 밝혔다.

A씨는 이달 자신의 당선을 목적으로 금고 회원에게 현금 50만원이 든 돈봉투를 건넨 혐의를 받고 있다.

공공단체 등 위탁선거에 관한 법률은 매수나 기부행위의 경우 3년 이하 징역 또는 3000만원 이하 벌금에 처하도록 규정하고 있다.

금품을 받은 사람도 3000만원 범위에서 받은 금액의 10~50배에 해당하는 과태료 처분을 받을 수 있다.

도선관위 관계자는 "선거권자의 자유의사를 왜곡하는 매수 및 기부행위는 선거질서를 어지럽히는 중대 선거범죄"라며 "깨끗한 선거문화가 정착할 수 있도록 후보자와 유권자를 대상으로 다양한 예방 활동을 전개하겠다"고 말했다.

도내에서는 48개 금고에 75명이 후보등록을 마쳐 평균 경쟁률 1.6대 1을 기록했다.29곳은 단독 출마로 무투표 당선이 예상된다.선거는 19곳(직선제 16곳,해외송금 수수료 하나은행대의원 3곳)에서 치러진다．
