한편 베니스비엔날레 조직위원회(위원장 피에트란젤로 부타푸오코)는 지난 2024년 11월 회의를 열고 남아프리카공화국 자이츠미술관의 코요 쿠오(Koyo Kouoh) 총괄 디렉터를 제61회 베니스비엔날레 국제미술전 총감독으로 선정했다.아프리카 여성이 베니스비엔날레를 이끌게 된 것은 이번이 처음이다.
