방심위는 최근 발생한 대학교 내 딥페이크 등 성적 허위영상물 관련 사건이 심각한 사회문제로 대두됨에 따라 이날 경찰청과 회의를 열어 공조 방안을 협의했다.

방심위는 성적 허위영상물 제작·유포 목적의 소셜미디어(SNS) 계정에 대한 중점 모니터링을 우선적으로 실시한다.

아울러 경찰청과 연결된 불법정보 공조 시스템을 활용해 성적 허위영상물 중점 모니터링 과정에서 파악된 악성 유포자 정보는 수사 의뢰하고,k리그 득점순위경찰에서 심의 요청한 성적 허위영상물을 신속히 조치하는 등 디지털성범죄 피해방지를 위한 협력을 강화하기로 했다.

방심위는 "최근 급증하고 있는 성적 허위영상물도 불법촬영과 다름없는 중대한 디지털성범죄정보에 해당한다"며 "경찰청 등 관계기관과 공조를 강화해 디지털성범죄 악성 유포자 수사에 적극 협조하겠다"고 밝혔다.

방심위는 작년 한 해 딥페이크 등 성적 허위영상물에 대해 총 7187건의 시정요구를 결정했다.올해는 지난달 말까지 총 5795건의 시정요구를 했다.2023년 대비 약 80%에 달하는 수치다．
