새마을금고중앙회는 배려계층 노인의 무릎 수술비 지원을 위해 총 1억원을 노인의료나눔재단에 전달했다고 오늘(12일) 밝혔습니다.

이번 기부금은 지난 4월 20일부터 지난달 25일까지 약 한 달여 동안 MG새마을금고 창립기념일,토토 스마트슬립지역상생의 날을 기념해 진행된 '그린MG 걷기 좋은 날' 캠페인을 통해 마련됐습니다.

'그린MG 걷기 좋은 날' 캠페인은 지난 2021년부터 올해까지 4년째 진행되고 있는 ESG경영 실천의 일환입니다.

올해부터는 참여 대상이 전 국민으로 확대됐으며,토토 스마트슬립이번에 새마을금고와 중앙회 임직원과 회원 등 모두 1만 7천여 명이 참여했습니다.

올해 캠페인에서 목표치 10억 걸음을 넘겨 18억 8천만 걸음이 달성되며 모이게 된 기부금은 새마을금고 창립 61주년을 맞아 61명의 배려계층 노인들 무릎 수술비로 쓰일 예정입니다.

김인 새마을금고중앙회장은 "앞으로도 새마을금고와 새마을금고중앙회가 환경과 이웃을 위한 사회 공헌 활동에 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 전 국민이 참여할 수 있는 기회도 마련하겠다"고 말했습니다.
