노령인구가 급격하게 증가하면서 간병인 수요도 높아지고 있습니다.

하지만 간병인이 턱없이 부족해 수급 불균형 문제가 심각한 사회문제로 떠오르고 있는데요.

경기도가 이를 해결하기 위해 외국인 간병인 제도 시행을 촉구하고 나섰습니다.

서승택 기자가 보도합니다.

지난 2020년 기준 장기요양등급 판정자는 18만여 명에 달하는 반면 전체 간병인 수는 3만5천명 수준에 불과했습니다.

이중 외국인 간병인은 절반가량을 차지하는데 이마저도 방문취업 비자와 재외동포 비자를 받은 중국동포,uefa 챔피언스리그 역대 우승팀혹은 고려인만 간병인으로 일할 수 있습니다.

이 때문에 간병인을 구하는 것은 '하늘의 별 따기'로 불리고,uefa 챔피언스리그 역대 우승팀간병인을 구하더라도 인건비가 부담입니다.

경기도가 외국인 간병인 인력을 안정적으로 확보하기 위해 외국인 간병인 제도화를 촉구하고 나섰습니다.

<서성란 / 경기도의회 의원> "간병인들은 50대 이상의 고령 여성이 90%를 차지하고 있고요.이 중에 64%가 방문 비자와 재외동포 비자를 가진 재외동포분들이십니다.외국인 간병인 인력을 안정적으로 확보하기 위해 시범 사업을 추진하게 되었습니다."

외국인 간병인제도 시범사업 추진은 경기도가 처음입니다.

정부에 요청해 취업비자를 확대한 뒤 간병인력 공급을 늘리고,uefa 챔피언스리그 역대 우승팀역량강화 교육과 자격증 제도 개발을 통해 전문성도 높이겠다는 계획입니다.

<서성란 / 경기도의회 의원> "구체적인 조례를 비롯해서 법적 행정적 지원책을 마련하려고 합니다.앞으로 외국인 간병지원 인력 사업을 확대해서 인력 수급 문제를 해결해 나갈 계획입니다."

경기도의 외국인 간병인제도 도입을 통해 간병인 수급 불균형 문제가 해소될 수 있을지 주목됩니다.
