새벽 시간 광주 도심 금은방에서 귀금속을 훔쳐 달아난 20대 여성이 경찰에 붙잡혔다.

광주 광산경찰서는 특수절도 혐의로 A씨를 붙잡아 조사하고 있다고 15일 밝혔다.

A씨는 지난 14일 오전 3시 30분쯤 광주 광산구 도산동 한 금은방에서 5000만원 상당의 금반지 등 귀금속 70여점을 훔쳐 달아난 혐의를 받는다.

A씨는 마스크를 쓰고 얼굴을 가린 채 가게 앞에 있는 입간판과 벽돌 등으로 유리창을 깨고 2분 만에 이 같은 일을 벌였다.

A씨는 금은방과 멀리 떨어진 곳에서 택시를 타고 범행 전후 인근 아파트에서 옷을 갈아입는 등 수사망을 피하려는 치밀함도 보였다.

경찰은 이른 아침 "금은방 유리창이 깨져 있다"는 행인의 신고를 받고 폐쇄회로(CC)TV를 분석해 12시간여 만인 전날 오후 6시 30분쯤 서구 농성동 한 카페에서 A씨를 붙잡았다.

경찰 조사 결과 A씨는 생활비를 마련하기 위해 이 같은 일을 저지른 것으로 드러났다.

경찰은 도주 가능성 등을 고려해 A씨에 대해 구속영장을 신청할 방침이다.
