도널드 트럼프 미국 전 대통령이 재집권하면 연방준비제도(Fed·연준)는 기준금리를 다섯 차례 더 올리게 될 것이라고 골드만삭스가 전망했습니다.

현지시간 3일 외신에 따르면 골드만의 얀 하치우스 수석 전략가는 트럼프가 공약대로 모든 수입품에 10%의 관세를 추가 부과할 경우 어떤 충격이 올 것인지에 대해 이같이 전망했습니다.

하치우스는 트럼프가 10% 추가 관세를 부과하면 다른 모든 나라들도 똑같이 대응할 것이고 이는 무역전쟁으로 이어질 것이라며 무역정책의 불확실성은 트럼프 집권 당시 최고점에 도달했을 때와 같아질 것이라고 내다봤습니다.

하치우스는 "트럼프 무역정책의 여파를 모두 종합하면 미국 인플레이션은 1.1%포인트 상승하게 될 것"이라며 유로존의 인플레이션은 0.1%포인트 오르는 데 그칠 것으로 예상됐습니다.

다만 그는 경제성장률 면에서는 트럼프 관세의 충격파가 뒤바뀔 수 있다고 봤습니다.

하치우스는 "유로존 국내총생산(GDP) 성장률은 트럼프 관세 정책으로 1%포인트 정도 악화할 수 있지만 미국은 0.5%포인트 나빠지는 데 그칠 수 있다"며 "이같은 불균형은 트럼프의 관세로 미국보다 유럽이 더 큰 타격을 입을 수 있다는 것을 시사한다"고 말했습니다.

통화정책 면에서는 트럼프 관세에 따른 인플레이션 때문에 미국은 기준금리를 130bp는 올려야 할 것이라고 골드만은 전망했습니다.반면 유럽은 성장률 둔화로 40bp는 추가 인하해야 할 것으로 점쳐졌습니다.

하치우스는 "연준은 통상 1회 기준금리를 움직일 때 25bp씩 움직이지만,아시안컵 해외에서 보는법꼭 그런 것은 아니다"라며 "이같은 시나리오라면 연준은 5회 금리를 올려야 할 것"으로 내다봤습니다.
