서울 강남경찰서는 코스닥 상장기업인 한 중견기업 회장 A씨를 특수상해 등 혐의로 지난 26일 서울중앙지검에 불구속 송치했다고 30일 밝혔다.

경찰에 따르면,메르쿠르 카지노A씨는 지난 5월 말 서울 강남구 자택에서 와인병 밑부분으로 배우자 B씨 머리를 가격하고 폭행하는 등 전치 6주 상해를 입힌 혐의를 받는다.

B씨 측은 과거에도 여러 차례 A씨에게 비슷한 가정폭력을 당했다고 경찰에 진술했다고 한다.

경찰은 이달 초부터 수사에 착수해 구속영장을 신청했으나 법원은 도주 우려가 적은 점 등을 이유로 신청을 받아들이지 않은 것으로 전해졌다.

A씨는 자신의 혐의를 부인하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.
