최근 제기된‘학교 내 전기차 충전시설 설치 요구’… "안정성 여부 등 신중하게 접근할 것"

임태희 경기도교육감이 최근 발생한‘화성 공장 화재’사건의 희생자들에게 애도를 표시하며 학교 현장에서의 안전교육 강화를 약속했다.

임 교육감은 26일 경기도교육청 출입기자단과 만난 자리에서 "최근 일차전지 생산공장에서 발생한 화재로 인해 많은 인명피해가 발생했다"며 "희생자들을 애도하며,여자 월드컵 갤유가족들에게 깊은 위로의 말씀을 드린다"고 전했다.

이어 "학교에서도 안전은 정말 중요한 과제"라며 "앞으로 재난에 대비한 예방법 등 다양한 교육을 더욱 꼼꼼히 점검하고 실행하겠다"고 밝혔다.

그는 최근 지역사회에서 제기되고 있는 학교 공간 내 전기차 충전소 설치 요구에 대해서도 입장을 내놨다.

임 교육감은 "전기차 충전소 문제는 학교 안전관리와 직결되는 중요한 사안"이라며 "무엇보다 현실적으로 학교 공간 내 전기차 충전소 설치는 현실적인 고민이 필요하다"고 설명했다.

그 이유로는 현재 학교에 공급되는 전력량으로는 하루에 충전이 가능한 전기차의 대수가 시설 대비 현저히 적은 점과 장시간 충전으로 인한 열 발생에 따른 안전 문제 등을 꼽았다.

임 교육감은 "현재 도교육청에서는 친환경 자동차 충전소 설치 의무 확대를 위한 관련법 내에 교육시설을 대상지로 하는 부분에 대해서는 유예를 요청한 상태로,여자 월드컵 갤안전성이 확실해 질 때까지는 신중하게 접근해야 할 문제"라며 "경기도의회와 협의를 통해 학교 안전에 조금이라도 위험 요소가 발생하지 않도록 최선을 다할 것"이라고 말했다.
