2040년 전력사용량 100% 재생에너지 전환 목표

한화(000880) 글로벌 부문은 한화신한테라와트아워와 20년간 매년 약 5398MWh(메가와트시)의 재생에너지 전기를 공급받는 내용의 직접전력거래계약을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.

한화신한테라와트아워는 한화컨버전와 신한금융그룹이 합작투자해 출범한 재생에너지 전력거래 사업 전담 법인이다.한화 글로벌 부문은 한화신한테라와트아워로부터 받은 재생에너지 전기를 질산과 질산암모늄을 생산하는 울산 온산공장에 공급할 예정이다.이는 온산공장 전력 사용량의 20% 정도를 대체할 수 있는 전력량에 해당한다.

앞서 한화는 2024년 1월 K-RE100에 가입했다.K-RE100는 기업의 사용 전력 100%를 재생에너지로 전환할 것을 약속하는 자발적 이니셔티브인 '한국형 RE100'이다.한화는 2040년까지 전력 사용량의 100%를 재생에너지 전기로 전환하겠다고 발표했다.

양기원 한화 글로벌부문 대표이사는 "이번 계약은 한화가 K-RE100에 가입한 후 최초로 체결하는 K-RE100 이행 계약이라는 점에서 의미가 남다르다"고 말했다.한화는 친환경 기술발전과 지속가능한 미래를 위한 저탄소 질산,e스포츠 종류질산암모늄 생산을 통해 K-RE100 이행률을 단계적으로 상향해 나갈 계획이다.고성훈 한화신한테라와트아워 대표이사는 "이번 계약으로한화 글로벌부문은 향후 20년간 재생에너지 전기를 안정적으로 공급받을 수 있다"며 "앞으로도 한화그룹를 대표하는 재생에너지전기공급사업자로서한화의 K-RE100 이행에 지속적인 도움을 줄 것"이라고 했다.
