중앙사령부는 "가자지구 해안에 있는 임시부두를 성공적으로 다시 설치했다"며 "가자 주민들이 절대적으로 필요로 하는 인도물자를 계속 배송할 수 있게 됐다"고 전했다.

임시부두는 5월에 폭풍과 풍랑 등으로 일부 파손되면서 해상으로 도착해 가자지구로 들어가는 물자의 운송이 수시로 중단됐다.지난달에만 임시부두를 통해 인도물자 910t 이상이 가자로 유입했다.

부두를 통해 가자지구 주민에 지원되는 물자량은 각종 반입 통로 가운데 2번째로 많았다고 한다.

중앙사령부는 미군의 지상 배치 금지 조치가 여전히 유효하다며 그래서 이스라엘군이 해안에서 관련 작업과 진행 과정을 도왔다고 설명했다.

부서진 임시부두는 이스라엘 애슈도드항에서 수리해서 가자지구 해안으로 옮겨 설치작업을 했다.

가자지구는 작년 10월7일 이래 9개월째 이스라엘군과 팔레스타인 무장세력 하마스 간 전쟁이 이어지면서 인도적 위기에 시달리고 있다.
