(서울=연합뉴스) 이재영 기자 = 경북 경주시 토함산 3곳에서 '땅밀림' 현상이 진행 중이라고 환경단체 녹색연합이 16일 밝혔다.

녹색연합은 이날 공개한 '경주 대형 산사태 대책 보고서'에서 "토함산·무장산·함월산 73곳에 산사태가 발생했으며 경주시 황용동 2곳과 문무대왕면 1곳에 '땅밀림' 현상이 나타나고 있다"라고 밝혔다.

지난 5월 녹색연합이 토함산 여러 곳에 산사태가 발생해 국보 석굴암도 위험에 처했다고 지적한 뒤 녹색연합과 경주국립공원사무소·국립산림과학원이 산림청과 경주시 협조 아래 조사를 벌였고 이번에 보고서가 나왔다.

땅밀림은 땅속에 물이 차오르면서 땅이 비탈면을 따라 서서히 무너지는 현상으로 산림청은 산사태보다 큰 피해를 유발할 수 있어 즉각적으로 대응해야 하는 일로 본다.

녹색연합에 따르면 황용동에 발생한 땅밀림 현상은 규모가 각각 1만2천231㎡(약 3천700여평)와 2천701㎡(약 820평)로 지방도 제945호선을 위협하고 있다.

문무대왕면 땅밀림 현상은 4천561㎡(약 1천380평) 규모로 범곡리 마을이 영향권에 든 상황이다.

녹색연합은 "문무대왕면 범곡리 인근에서 지난 2018년 10월 땅밀림 현상이 발생해 국도 4호선 노반이 붕괴하는 일이 있었다"라면서 "당시엔 지나가는 차가 없어 인명피해는 없었지만,카지노 몬테레이 accommodation큰 사고로 이어질 뻔했다"라고 지적했다.

토함산·무장산·함월산은 지질이 불안정한 데다가 2019년 9월과 2017년 11월 경주와 포항에서 강진이 발생했던 터라 땅밀림에 취약하다고 녹색연합은 설명했다.

녹색연합은 "기후위기로 국지성 집중호우가 수시로 내리고 있다"라면서 "산사태를 비롯한 수해 대응에 정부가 동원할 수 있는 모든 자원과 기술을 집중시켜야 피해를 줄일 수 있다"라고 강조했다.

이어 "경주시와 경북도는 땅밀림 대응을 긴급히 진행해야 한다"라면서 "과한 대응만이 산사태로 인한 인명피해를 막는 길"이라고 덧붙였다.
