국내 대학 연구팀이 수행한 '동물용 의약품 안전성 평가 연구' 결과에 따라 국제 인체 안전기준과 식품 규격이 설정됐다.

호서대학교는 임상병리학과 바이오의과학연구센터 정상희 교수 연구팀이 식품의약품안전처의 연구과제인 '축·수산용 동물용 의약품 안전성 재평가 연구' 결과를 유엔식량농업기구(FAO)와 세계보건기구(WHO) 합동 식품첨가물 전문가위원회(JECFA)에 제출했고,이에 근거해 국제 인체 안전기준·식품 규격이 마련됐다고 1일 밝혔다.

JECFA에 제출한 연구 결과는 국내외에서 가축,사토 유키꿀벌,수산 동물의 원충성 질병 치료를 위해 사용되는 약물인 푸마길린과 클로피돌의 급성독성,사토 유키유전독성,사토 유키대상 동물 잔류성과 대사 분포·인체 위해성 평가 결과 등이다.

연구팀의 연구 결과에 의해 지난 2월 개최된 99차 JECFA에서 푸마길린과 클로피돌의 국제 안전기준인 일일섭취허용량,사토 유키급성 참고치와 꿀·어류 식품에서의 푸마길린,가금식품에서의 클로피돌 잔류허용기준을 설정했다.오는 10월에 열리는 27차 국제식품규격분과위원회(CODEX CCRVDF)에서 최종기준으로 상정된다.

정상희 교수는 “국제기준 설정에 우리 대한민국 연구결과가 전적으로 활용된 최초의 사례로서 국내 안전성·위해성평가 분야의 우수성이 최고의 국제전문기구인 JECFA를 통해 인정받았음을 의미한다”고 밝혔다.
